Free nfl ticket with choice package

I called direct tv a couple of weeks ago because there was an ad that said you could get free nfl Sunday ticket with the choice package.  The representative said I qualified and would be getting it free this season.  Total lie.  This is false advertising.  Someone needs to hold them accountable.

That ad was for NEW customers not existing. Free nflst has always been a new customer promotion at certain times of the year.

Why did the representative said I qualified?

To avoid telling you the truth or to get you off the phone because he/she didn't really know how to tell you that existing customers don't qualify. It's a type of call avoidance.

If you signed up for it thinking it was free, you have until the start of the regular season to cancel. Any payments made will be credited back.

How do I hold them accountable?

You likely don’t. A rep giving you incorrect information is normally not honored. If you aren’t a new customer, Sunday Ticket is not free. You can try escalating by filing an FCC or BBB complaint. The complaint will result in someone from corporate contacting you. Perhaps they will honor it.

Advertisements are introductory offers only as explained in their fine print. The free NFL Sunday Ticket is a one-time offer, usually not available again after the intro special.

Call DirecTV back and opt out of the NFL Sunday Ticket so that any installment charges are reversed as it is still before the start of the season. Also file complaint on prior agent for providing significantly wrong information.
