We're customers like you, not employees.  Best to call DirecTV to straighten this out .... 1 800 531 5000

You might be happier getting your billing statements via email instead of snail mail.

Then since you have internet access, setup paperless billing so you get an email notice. That would come through faster than traditional mail, even if your local post wasn't an issue.

You can log into your account at any time to see current status and billing history.

Bill is due at the same time every month, regardless of when you see the bill. You could even call and check balance through the voice system.

This person does not have internet access. That is the reason for this
problem.

So you are talking about someone else's account?

If they don't have internet access, then they should set a reminder on whatever works best for them (wall calendar, phone, etc.) as the bill is due the same time each month. If they haven't received a bill then they can call in and find out the balance over the phone. They can pay their bill over the phone (voice system), or even speak to an agent to setup auto bill pay.

Now if for some reason they still want to mail in the payment, even though they have trouble with receiving mail, they can do so without the physical bill as long as they got their balance info. Though any trouble receiving mail should be addressed with the post office (assuming the issue is with the Postal Service itself or the individual mail carrier and not something after they have delivered the mail).

If you would like to mail in your payment and do not have a remittance envelope, use the address that corresponds with the first number of your ZIP code:

  • If your ZIP code begins with: 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8
    DIRECTV
    P.O. Box 5007
    Carol Stream, IL 60197-5007
  • If your ZIP code begins with: 2, 3, 7, 9
    DIRECTV
    P.O. Box 105261
    Atlanta, GA 30348-5261

Remember to include your account number on your payment.

Payments are processed the same day they are received. Please allow 3-5 business days for regular mail delivery.

He is comparing service with Dish which he has had for years without this kind of trouble... He will probably stick it out for the year. He expects a bill every month which is not happening.

I can't change the way he wants to do things. Snail mail and written checks. Thanks for that phone number, will give it a try.

If he is not getting his bills at all, have him check that the billing address (different from service address) is correct. Also make sure that he wasn't set up for paperless billing. If his bill is coming in, but not consistently on when it is, then that is an issue he will have to take up with the post office.

He can certainly keep the billing the old fashion way without using internet. But like the traditional way, his bills are due at the same time each month and he can call to discuss the account. At some point he has to take financial responsibility for paying his bills on time.

Log into your account online to view your bill. Even opt into paperless billing where you get bill notice by email. Faster method then waiting on post office.

You can also verify that the billing address, which is not automatically the same as the service address, is correct.

Or if you are referring to not your account, but the other person you have tried to help (from your other posts), then you can't do much. If the bill is not coming at all that suggests wrong address on file (or in very rare cases bill copy set to 0, a ridiculous setting their old system had that I hope the new billing system doesn't have that as an option). If bill is coming in late, then they must deal with the post office about delivery issues.

If that person must do things the old fashion way, then it is their responsibility to call when they don't get their bill to verify the amount. Then either pay over the phone, or mail in payment hoping it gets there on time.

Give this to your friend. They should take control of their financial responsibility not you. If you officially become their help, then have them add you as an authorized user of the account and mail the bill to your address.
