Adding Direct tv to another room

So I have DirectTv Dvr in the living room of my house. And want to put a tv in my bedroom. I want to get a Dvr for the bedroom but had a few questions.

1. How much more will it cost for the second room? Will they charge for installation or a new reciever or will they just charge more for another line. I don't have alot of money to spend so I want to find the cheapest way possible. I just need a regular dvr not an HD  one.

2. Can I keep stuff recorded in the bedroom seperate from the stuff in the living room? I want to be able to record stuff without people seeing what being recorded.

3. If I am recording two things in the living room can I record two things in the bedroom as well.

1.  a DVR is regularly $99.00, but DTV might be able to cut you a break if you have been a "loyal" customer.  the installation is usually $49.99, but the same concept as above applies.  what I know for sure is that you r bill will increase $6.00 a month for the extra DVR

2.  If you want the bedroom private just don't order the Whole Home DVR service.  That will save you money in all likelihood.

the op has a regular DVR now and plans to order another SD DVR, so WHDVR is out the question.

Thanks so much for the help I will check it out. Hopefully it will reduce the monthly addon price.

Peds48 is correct, with SD DVR's you cannot share the bedroom with the living room in any case.  I misread your original post.

You should be able to have DirecTV add a box in your room and tie it to your mom's account.

Your mom can call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 to do an upgrade of equipment to add the additional TV. This adds $7 to the monthly bill at minimum. Depends on what her current setup is what upgrade options to consider as well as any other possible monthly costs. What are the models of each box she has now?
