two remotes RF and IR to one HR24 receiver

I have an HR24 receiver connected to two TVs in a distance.

TV1 is inside RF range  but TV2 is outside the RF range. I can use a IR extender via coax cable for TV2 but I dont know if I can set up the HR24 receiver both RF and IR remotes.

Can I do it?

The HR24 is either IR or RF insofar as control of the DVR itself is concerned.  The auxiliary controls for the TV, AVR etc are always IR regardless of how the DVR is configured.

The IR extender uses RF to transmit between the 2 extender units.  If TV2 is outside RF range, the extender, therefore, won't help.

It might. If the RF extender is of higher power than the RF built-in to the HR24, it might work, difficult to tell.

As you are likely aware of by now, Directv intends that a receiver or DVR be connected to each TV wanting service.  For new installs the receivers are free and the monthly fee is small so not much reason to jury rig your entertainment.
