Tired of being made to force-watch commercials

Every time I try to watch a show on demand they play about 40 commercials an hour that you cannot fast-forward. Over and over and over and over being made to watch these things is about the most annoying thing directtv has ever done. If I see "Never gonna let you go" commercial one more time I'll be considering letting directtv go.......anyone else out there agree ??

DTV has no control over a channels On Demand servers, the only way to avoid it is by recording the programs from the sat channels.  Complaining to the channels may/may not help.

It is the channel disabling the FF/REW options to make their slots sold for advertising worth that much more. Writing down every signal product advertised seems a waste to me as they just buy the advertising slot. If it is that a big an issue for you, then don't watch the channel itself as they are controlling the access to what is on them.

Some channels treat On Demand just as if it were on their individual website, so disable the FF/REW capability. Didn't use to be this way, but more channels are implementing this as On Demand comes from their online library so has some sort of different licensing or permission than what we get from the satellite feed.

I agree it is an issue. This loophole needs to be closed, as in my opinion it is unethical for the channels to disable our DVR service that we pay for. If it is delivered through the DirecTV box and service, regardless if it comes from the satellite feed or the channel's On Demand library, it should be treated the same. Channels don't allow FF/REW on their own websites then fair enough, but not when through a TV provider (be it DirecTV or someone else).

As my primary reason for DirecTV is to watch TV that doesn't rely on streaming, it is not something that will convince me to let DirecTV go at this time. However as I do use On Demand to download and watch later on occasion, it is something I will be keeping an eye on.

I will NEVER EVER BUY ANY PRODUCT THAT I AM BEING FORCED TO WATCH A COMMERCIAL FOR. Even when I record the show your gonna restrict my FF and FORCE ME TO WATCH IT? No sir! I don’t pay almost $300 a month for my package to be controlled like this! The volume goes down...  I write down the name of the product and I will never purchase it in my entire lifetime NOW WHOS IN CONTROL?

That might actually help if everyone did it.
