Most satellite/cable providers do not have OANN. You can always check their website for their availability.

@wpaint - try KlowdTV, the 2.50 per month option. They have OAN Plus at no charge, and actual OAN within the 2.50 per month option.

Incorrect. As I don't care if OANN stays or leaves, I have not bothered to compare pricing or how the specific in-depth options work. I simply looked up a list, provided by OANN themselves, on where they may be found as a courtesy. Those who truly want OANN will compare the pricing options for what feels right to them.

@wpaint - also, I dropped DirecTV over their decision to drop OAN. I'm saving a ton of money as well, I "cut the cord" and don't pay enormous fees to cable with two year contracts any more - I'm done with that. I'm now on a month-to-month with streaming services and loving it, I get KLOWDTV, FRNDLYTV, BRITBOX for the UK channels, and others. Loving it.  Also added a digital antenna for all the local news channels in high-def digital, including a slew of channels I never imagined were being broadcast where I live - in the DC / Baltimore metro area.  Saving money and loving life - and still watching OAN!

@wpaint Check out VuTVPlus.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  It seems many have chosen to ditch companies that silence / censor people based on political preferences.

Your question has been asked repeatedly since the dropping of OAN was announced months ago. Bottom line, you aren’t going to get an answer from Directv here other than what they’ve already published. Take your business elsewhere if you need to.

Yes I plan on moving from both AT&T & Direct TV. We have been a customer of both for well over 10 years & cannot support a hater of (Edited per community guidelines) organizations any longer. Same goes for Amazon (3rd party vendor), by local or use it to find the company & order directly from them.  Time to take a stand!

It's unfortunate, but it looks like DirecTV's decision to cancel OAN will not be reversed. 

This is only a customer to customer forum and it has been my experience that no one from management comes here. You should call DirecTV's Loyalty Department 800-531-5000 to express your concern. They need to hear from you.

If they are not comfortable for your budget, then fair enough. If you so greatly disagree with the decision to no longer carry and pay for OANN, that is also fair.

I agree that quality of customer service for DirecTV has dropped as agents from the AT&T side not familiar with how it works were thrown in the mix. On top of that the low staffing and increased outsourcing since the pandemic. All this alongside less (I believe) legacy DirecTV agents. I hope now that we are now in the time where this can start improving again, though I expect anything truly noticeable will take a while.

No idea where you got your "racist" from, but I respect we each have our own perceptions.

But, I am curious. What is the reason for the post? As this is not an airport, or their cancellation department, there is nothing that comes from announcing your departure here. It only serves to continue your attachment to AT&T further by posting in their forums. Such action means you are not truly free, otherwise you would have just moved on.

I'm considering changing cell carriers too but am "afraid" if I do, I won't like the new service.  I've been with AT&T for just over 10 years and left Verizon after 11 years  (with T-Mobile 1+ year in between) so I don't have any of the major carriers left.  I'm considering Patriot Mobile or PureTalk, maybe StraightTalk, I've checked that my phone is compatible but have yet to take the plunge.  I don't know that I have noticed a difference with DirecTV since AT&T took it over but I never got any discounts from either of them, since I was a customer with both before the merger, or takeover or whatever it was.

Where we live cell reception is so spotty that we can't totally cut the cord. We have had Straittalk for several years and quite happy with it. The wife get the $35 plan because she is home more and uses wifi. I get $45 especially when I know I'm going to be in service. I listen to YouTube or audio books while i'm working. I've never run over my plan limits. $45 gives you unlimited talk/text to U.S. and Canada and I think even Mexico although I'm not sure. Also get 25 gigs of data. It uses Verizon towers which is what we have.

Also with Straighttalk I purchase everything on line. Walmart is 35 miles away so we don't go very often.

It's pretty easy. As easy as any other shopping on line. 

Nothing has changed. Time to find alternatives.

So call and cancel and move on. If any of your "friends" feel the same then they must call on their own. Your account has nothing to do with theirs.

@ProudPatriot AT&T / DIRECTV are hiding under plausibie deniability as a smoke screen to the truth.  Be sure to Read OANN complaint filed in California Supreme Court as well as letters from State and Government Officials posted on OANN website.

Note the decision came soon after President Joe Biden urged social media companies and news outlets to “deal with misinformation and disinformation” on their platforms.  I guess if one does not agree with the viewpoint, it’s misinformation and disinformation.  

Note many of us are proud patriot customers like you AT&T & DIRECTV has clearly sent the message that we are not important. @Catskills_Dan has posted several resources in the forums which are helpful.  So has @ElmerFudd79 and @ahwhite .  We had a great thread going with over 88 pages of concerned customers but it was  closed.  

To be clear, DirecTV is not saying that Patriots are unimportant. Not all who watch are Patriots and not all Patriots watch it. But they are saying that no longer paying for OANN is worth any customers they lose over this.

Action being more important then some loss of customers, doesn't mean they are not important. A business has to weigh value of many factors. In this case, the decision was in favor of parting ways with OANN.

I do have to laugh and another thread about this. The big one had over 84 pages and thousands or comments. 

I strongly suggest looking at all the streaming options such as VUTV+ on Firestick if you have good internet access. I got a Tivo Edge OTA system to do the DVR side. With an antenna there are many local channels FREE. I can save over $600 a year now that I also dropped DTV and another $500 a year by switching to patriot mobile.  Now the funny part is they are using the AT&T network so lo less service for less that half of the cost

For starters, it is not our service. This is a public forum of other customers.

Not all of us have good enough internet (if at all) to support streaming-only. You also have to weigh the variety in one location vs managing multiple accounts and logins for streaming.

If your issue is OANN, then you will need to seek out one of their few other providers that carry them. Otherwise if it is just overall value, then you need to compare the different options out there (including other DirecTV packages). Just make sure you verify against regular cost, not simply intro pricing.

@MSoper425 That’s a great question.  Please see main form where many of us asked same question.  Apparently customer service to those who are conserv..atives is not a top priority.  Most with broadband jumped ship to more friendly providers… I feel bad for those living in dish only regions though.

Do you really think that ONE channel out of tens of hundreds of DIRECTV channels will lower the rate? Sorry, but that won't make the cut. If DIRECTV stopped their carriage agreement with the Viacom channels, then your question would be valid. However, the loss of one channel won't magically lower rates.

Why can't you just answer in a polite manner? If you don't want to answer a question, skip over it and let someone else do it.

You get billed on a 30 day cycle. So let's say you're on the entertainment package at 69.99. That's 65 channels divided by the monthly rate. That's 1.0767, or 1 dollar. So yeah, I'm sure you can get a credit for a dollar 🤣🤣🤣

According to Tired's math, rounded up of course, that should be a savings of a whopping $2.16! 

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that and besides, DTV added some channels to the lineup, too.

Mr. 254, I don't believe I receive tens of hundreds of channels; and I doubt you do either.  However, if something was in the package when I subscribed to it why am I required to pay the same fee if the package no longer offers "what I bargained for"?

If the "only" reason to subscribe to DirecTV was for OANN, well to me that seems like a lot to pay for a single channel. Seems it would have been better to subscribe to one of the other providers that has it since you have no need for all the other content.

Freedom of Speech is not dead. And Freedom of Speech doesn't mean that DirecTV has to pay for OANN. It is their Freedom to carry it or not as they choose.

@Bewitched  I held on too.  I've thought about quitting DirecTV before but stuck around for OAN.  I've found other alternatives and will be moving on as well.  They don't care and neither should we.  I've talked to people on here and friends who have cut the cord for other reasons.  Lots of alternatives out there, just have to figure out what will work best for you.  I'm sure people have left DirecTV for other reasons besides OAN and will continue to do so. 

If OAN is the deciding channel, then yes seek your alternatives. AT&T/DirecTV are a business so don't have to "care". They make the decision they feel is best for them, regardless if there are some customers who don't like it. Naturally it would be expected that they calculated that parting ways with OAN was more worth it than the those customers who choose to leave. Time will tell if the decision was truly worth it or not.

Announcement was a few months ago. If the channel means that much to you, then check out the providers that do carry it.
