I was switching tvs and changed my mind I hooked the Tv back up but the color disappeared do I have the plungs in wrong?

Is there a problem with direct tv?  My color is erratic, striations flicker and goes to black and white.

When the cc option is activated, the background color is black for the first line but if the sentence is longer than 1 line, the background color changes to white. It's very difficult to read with the white background color.  Is there any way to change this so it's only black?
