Want line location in yard marked
I don’t want to file a claim, all I want is for ATT to come out and mark exactly where their line runs. We are about to do some major landscaping and would like to avoid damaging line. I already put in a request a week ago with the GA 811 website but no one from ATT or your contractors has bothered to show up to mark the line. Getting a direct answer or actually having someone respond would be a welcomed change. Thus far, I’ve been shuffled around to three different numbers and 4 different people. I thought if I got on here and stated I’m not filing a claim against ATT, then maybe I’ll finally get somewhere. It’s very frustrating!

at&t doesnt locate lines neither does the power company or cable companies, 811 is the only way to get them located and are in no way affiliated with any utilities. utilities are not equipped with locating equipment. you cant file a claim on at&t when its not their responsibility to locate and they have no say over when the locate company arrives.

Umm yeah thanks. As I stated at the beginning, I don’t want to file a claim. Thought I was clear about that. Although I have every right to considering an electrical line was severed during ATT installation. It was my understanding that each utility line (electric, phone, water) would be located separately and after someone cane out and located electric lines, I assumed someone else would be out to locate others. I do appreciate you clearing that up.

What claim?
You call the local utility locator service. "Call before you Dig." They locate all underground utilities.
Maybe this will explain it better: https://call811.com/
(It's not done the same way in all states. In mine, it's a single service that is paid for by the various utilities. Other states may not do it that way.)
