Staying with Grandkids for the winter. Can I still get my shows?
I have moved out of state for the winter months to my son's house. Is there a way I can access my satellite info here in Texas if my home is originally in Utah? I don't want to have a separate account.

By the rules you either need a separate account, and then suspend each accordingly when not in use, or place a Movers order for a long term move of service (at least 12 months). This is because local channels, sports options, and taxes you must pay are based on the physical service address where the TV is intended to be used.
Alternatively, some channels in your satellite subscription support streaming some content through their individual apps for TV viewing.

The way to get your satellite info would have been to bring a receiver with you. Did you? You would get all of your normal info and channels except your Utah locals and possibly whatever regional sports channel you get. An alternative is to use the Directv app on a streaming device. You may not get all your Utah channels but you would get most.

The receiver you take needs to work standalone (meaning can work by itself). Thus, a Genie client would not work since it requires a regular Genie HD DVR to work.
Additionally, your son needs to have a DIRECTV satellite dish if you plan to watch live TV. This would have to be the most up-to-date SWM HD DISH.
