There's grey on both sides of the picture,i've tried to reset the reciever and it still looks the same,how do I fix it?

For the last two days everything that I have recorded on my DVR has shown up as just a grey screen.It shows that the full time was recorded and i can fast forward through it,but it shows nothing but a grey screen.Please help ASAP need to rectify this immediately.
