I have several show that I have the first showing recording; however, at times I come in and I'll have eight shows recorded and there will as many as 20 episodes of eight shows that have been recorded. What am I doing wrong? It bugs the heck out of me.

imho that would be a massive downgrade. You already have eight tuners, and much more flexibility than the HS17 has.

No way to over-ride. It should be about eight hours. Try to find an IR generator with a chron so you can schedule an activity every x hours.

Great point and one that I had not considered. An inexperienced installer may wrongly assume that the internal bridging of the SWiM16 allows more than eight tuners on one output.
